Hi,

i'm testing Object2VR now, as addition to pano2vr, so it's possible to click items and get a nice rotatable close-up.
however i can't get the export result even close to the original sharpness, is there any way to achieve this?

(on the right the original, left the object2vr output)

even the 'trial' watermark isn't sharp.
using PNG or JPG at 90%, it's almost the same result.

Hi David,
Did you use multi resolution?
And what was the interpolation set to.
There are more settings that can sharpen the image but at the cost of speed, but that said we are only talking seconds.
See this page: https://ggnome.com/wiki/settings-preferences-object2vr/
And the images/skin editor tab.

Hi,
thanks for the quick reply.
As for now, i only care about the sharpness, speed is secondary.

i have zoom enabled, multi-res enabled with 256 tile size (tried higher, seemed no difference), lanczos 3, or Blackman (no noticeable difference).
is there any "top sharpness" setting i can try?

another thing is, for some reason the mouse movement is wrong.. when i move it left, the image goes the other way... i think my first experiments didn't have that issue. can't find how to change that.

Hi David,
Can you send us some of your images to test with?
The rotation depends on which way the turntable rotated when the images were being shot, CW or CCW.
Under viewing parameters, you can select Horizontal Reverse to correct this.

Hi david,
Thank you for your files.
Our findings.
1) The input images are 5184 x 3888px, however you set the max resolution in Object2VR's multiresolution table to be 1920px.
2) Level tile size was set very small, 256. this generates far too many tiles. The default is 512, but for best performance, this should be 510px as Object2VR uses 1px overlap which means the tiles are actually 512px on output.

Below are the multiresolution settings I used.

You can of course remove the lower resolution as most modern screen resolutions are larger than 324px.

aha yes it looks good now!
didn't realize this resolution setting would affect the display in this way.
thanks for checking.
