Hi Hopki,

When I type in the tag in the Node Marker Properties it disappears and if one of the other panos is already selected the whole program crashes :-( Frustrating as this feature will be really useful. I can ad a node and change it for the correct tag in the code but it's far from ideal.

Yes both the SWF and XML have the same file names, great that will save me some work.

Also I've changed the folder structure now so that all of the image folders are in the same place, still running slow as in this link (graphics in an external folder) http://www.peterstephens.co.uk/virtual_ ... ernal.html Odd, oh well doesn't matter too much - just wont create the graphics externally.

Thanks,
Pete

Now the Flash is loading fast, but the HTML5 is slow http://www.peterstephens.co.uk/virtual_ ... _tour.html

Any idea why the program crashes when typing in node marker properties? I have just tried a new project to see if it's something to do with my other project, but that one crashes too. :-( Pulling my hair out now, time for a few beers and a movie I think !

Here's the version of the tour I'm currently working on:

http://www.peterstephens.co.uk/virtual_ ... _tour.html

Flash appears to be running fine, but HTML5 is still a little slow to load first time. I'll go through my HTML5 settings:

Cube Face Size: 2658px
Image Quality: 70
Multiresolution: Enabled and the levels are 2658, 1329, 665 and 333
Have have not setup alternative images for smaller screen sizes on the Mobile tab as I'm thinking the multiresolution will do this job, perhaps I'm wrong?
File structure is now as per the software's recommendation, ie: output folder with the html, swf, xml, skin etc... plus an images and tiles folder.

Can you suggest alternative settings? I can't see the greyscale preview when the 360's are loading either.

A couple other things....

I've setup node markers which link to the various panoramic images within the tour as discussed previously in this post. Each one has the following actions:

Activate Show Element Info Tab (changes the link on the pull out, right side of the skin)
Deactivate Hide Element Info Tab
Activate Show Element Pano Name (changes the name of the pano, graphic top right)
Deactivate Hide Element Pano Name
Activate Show Element Location Name (changes the name of the location, top left)
Deactivate Hide Element Location Name

I've noticed that when viewing pano's within the same location the name (top left) sometimes disappears. I'm assuming because it is getting confused with hiding the element when deactivating a pano and showing the same one again on activating a new one. Is there anyway around this issue without duplicating the graphics for each of the panos rather than sharing their location names (top left) ? The tag option might have worked for this, but it still crashes Pano2VR when I try to use it in the skin editor.

An odd issue I've noticed on the pull out tab is when clicking on the link back to the uni on the iPad it opens up two external pages when on the flash version it opens up one, I've no idea why it's doing this?

Thank you :-)

HI Pete,
Just had a look at your skin.js file, you seem to be pre loading a lot of images, try just load the images to see when the tour first opens.
If the file sizes are small then I would not bother preloading at all.

Hi Hopki,

I haven't intentionally asked them to pre-load and I can't see how in the software to tell to do so, how do I stop them from pre-loading? The graphics are between 1-3kb mostly, so not very big no.

Any ideas with my node marker and html5 external link problems?

Best Wishes,

Pete

Hi Pete,
Under the Image and Download section there of a graphic there is a check box to export to first frame.

Hi Hopki,

Yes all the images are un-ticked on the download to the first frame, should they all be ticked then ?

I've sorted out the other couple issues. I'm having trouble getting a button to turn the gyro on and off though, with gyro set to off on startup. I've done this before by editing the code, but can't seem to get it working this time. Has anything changed with the gyro function in the new software?

HI Pete,
Keep them unselected as you don't want it all loading before hand.

The easiest thing to do with the Gyro is add the the button
Loaded => Go To URL => URL: javascript:gyro.disable(); => Target (leave blank)
Mouse Click => Go To URL => URL: javascript:gyro.toggle(); => Target (leave blank)

The only downside is when you visit a new node it defaults back to off.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

They where all off to start with, don't know why the skin code suggests otherwise?

The Gyro button is perfect thank you !!

Hi,

The loading time is still an issue, and I'm not sure how to sort this out. Also I've just added 30 photos to the skin which has sent the flash file size nuts, it's around 12mb now. I know there is a way to externalise the photos via text within the skin editor, but it would be nice not to do this.

All the images in the skin are un-ticked on the Export to first frame option but as you say the skin appears to want to load everything in one go.

Tested the skin in flash with the graphics external and it's created a bonkers big html file with the skin information in it. Here's the link to this file:

http://www.peterstephens.co.uk/virtual_ ... /test.html

Here's the link to the whole tour again:

http://www.peterstephens.co.uk/virtual_ ... _tour.html

I've built similar skins to this one before and not had the loading time issue. Happy to send files over if you want to see Hopki?

Many Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,
Maybe an idea, can you upload the complete project somewhere?
