Hi guys,

I need your help, please.

I can enter each combination, but don´t reach the goal - what is:

Simply to show an external picture, placed in the exact middle of the pano (in fullscreen and also in a window)

The picture is shown of corse, but not in the center...

and (external) pictures does not open in html5....

Because I spent hours on that simple thing, now some more details and still my cry for help:
Zwischenablage01.jpg
Zwischenablage01.jpg (42.12 KiB) Viewed 13531 times
The idea is:
clicking on the hotspot picture ("button-info") does those actions:
"show element ext1"
the element "ext1" is linked with picture 1 ( "bild1.jpg" ) - visible in that Properties under "External URL"

whe I click on the hotspot in the pano, the "bild1" is opened and shown, but I tried all combinations of ancor and center ( in the element ext1, also in the hotspot and also in the hotspot-picture...) but never the picture is placed in the middle of the pano ( not in fillscreen and not in the normal html window...)

what is running wrong here - is that a bug, or is the workflow wrong ?

thanks again for some tips....before I drive crazy :-(

And it is the same behaviour in fullscreen:
The more wide an external picture is, the more out of center position it is shown ( to down/right corner).

It seems that 800 Pixel wide is some magic border...??

Hi
If you have the external image loader as a separate element in the root of the file tree and anchored for centre then it should not move.
Try it with a rectangle of the same size, does that stay in the middle?
Also make sure that the external loader size is set the same as the image size.
Please let me know how you get on.

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

yes it is o.k. - if I do it all the same size...

My first Idea was:
to draw only a very small rectangle and to get some kind of "automatic" centering of all images ( with different sizes)

Today I am one step forward, no problem for the flashtour - I will use fixed sizes now.

BUT
the big problem I got now:
It does NOT work in html5
- not with the special "set text" function (as writen in "Popup Image with Narration")
- and also not with the "normal procedure" of entering the picture-name (picture1.jpg) in field: External URL
- I tried with "show element" (element is the external picture element, what is of course)should this work in html5 (generally asking)

HOW to get this function of opening an external picture inside the panotour by clicking a hs in html5 ???

Is that possible ?

Hint: I do not have an ipad, so I just do the "test" with safari under windows (locally and I set user agent to ipad of course...).

Many thanks for your help, especially with the html-function of external-picture...

THIS pont is very important for my actual customer....

Hi
What I forgot to mention, sorry, is you can use the text box method.
How:
Place a text box in the skin, the same size as your image, or you can use Auto Size, but I would set it for the size of the image for positioning.
Place your external image in the images folder to keep things tidy, however this is not important just as long as the file path is correct.

Then you would use a Set Text action to set the text to the text box as well as show it, not forgetting that you wold be using Set Element Scale 1/1 to show and 0/0 to hide the text box.

<img src="images/pic.jpg">

Pic being the name of your image in your images folder.
Then to stop it use another Set Text action with no text, this unloads it.

You can also use this to embed YouTube Video, so to play our promo video you would use:

http://www.youtube.com/v/SQbLg6KLV7k?version=3

If you right button click on a YouTube video and then left button click on copy embed code, then paste it in a document you will see where to get the code from. Only if the YouTube video owner lets you embed the video.

Dear Martin ( Hopki)

not any tip or hint ?

In the meanwhile I spend some more 3 hours, just trying almost all combinations of possible commands and containers.

The picture is shown on startup of the html5 panorama when I let the textbox as visible, and it is closed when I click on it - BUT it is not "reloaded" - it is not shown via the hotspot-button
( I also tried to enter the commands in the hotspot, as well as in the hotspot-picture...)

Just believe me, I do not sit and wait for your solution, but NOW I have no more idea what I could test or what combination makes sense, NOW I NEED your professional help... :-)

Please help to find a solution,

many thanks and regards,
Dieter

UPDATE:

The commands works only if the textbox is a child of the hotspot ( hs-template).

But with that its NOT possible to center the picture ( via textbox) as it is a child of the hotspot, it is moving with the pano

To center it in the middle - it should not be a child...

Getting frustrated and don´t know what to tell the customer...

Could you please just give an answer until what date we can have this function running ( with external loader, or any other proper solution..) ?

Let me also remark, that this html5 designs will become important, so it could be an advantage to force it, as I guess some other panorama-producers could need that...

Thanks again, if you could find a more fast solution.

2nd UPDATE:
I will have a look into this:
http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/vi ... 309#p23309
hopfully I can find a workaround that works with hotspot-triggering...and external pictures...

I also have seen that krpano can do this need...
but I don´t want to pay and learn from very first beginning a new software, what does not have a usefull GUI...

Hi
You can use Hotspot Proxy ID's to link a point hotspot to a container, this container will have the actions to set text and scale the text box that will show the image.

I am away now for the weekend and have limited internet, bluetooth to my phone GPRS with poor signal, ok for e-mails but thats about it.

Hi again,

I am glad that it works now, but a next question was asked:

If one external picture is shown in the flash ( or html5) window, this picture is above the panorama ( the "top-layer").

Is there any way to have within that layer the possibility to choose some more pictures??

The reason could be:

When the user will click on one hotspot, that is shown in the pano somewhere, but for this detail-picture that will open, some more pictures should be chooseable.

For example you have a pano inside a car.

A HS will open a detail-picture of the steering wheel.

But the wheel is also available in different colors and now it would be comfortable for the user, not to need to click on HS1 for red wheel picture and next to click on HS2 for next picture of the wheel...
Also this many HS´s in the pano will be too much because they will hide too much details of the panorama...

It could be just the same behaviour as the "typical" lightboxes, click on right side of the picture would show the next picture, click on left side of the picture would show the previous pic....

If anyone knows a workaround in Pano2VR, it would be great to write it here....

Many many thanks again !

Hello to everybody! Long time reader first time poster!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but thought no need to open another topic as centered external images is what I want to talk about.
Is there a way to make the scale of the image popup be "aware" of the flash windows size? e.g. the image to zoom to extents, no matter if it is a small window or fullscreen?
Thanks!

Hi
You can use the Source Actions Enter and Exit Fullscreen.
You would use something like this:

Enter Fullscreen => Set Element Scale => Scale X/Y: 2/2 => Target: $self
Exit Fullscreen => Set Element Scale => Scale X/Y: 1/1 => Target: $self

The above actions will be in the popup. or you could have a container with the actions in, just change the Target: to the name of the popup window.
You can then use similar actions to hide show skin elements such as a different button for the fullscreen. Add a logo to a corner as you have more screen space.

I would target your popups to fit a 1024 x 768 window as there are still loads of this screen size out there, although many have larger.

Thank you Hopki,
will try that, though I don't quite get it right now, nor does this seem like parametric dynamic sizing...
Still it is a lot and I appreciate your answer much, thank you!
