Borders, buttons and thumbnails outside how?

Hi all,
Looking at 360 Imagery excellent VT of the Sarcens Head, Symonds Yat East.

How do you place buttons, text and thumbnails outside of a Skin? Also, how would place the panorama so that a big border surrounds It?
I would appreciate if anybody who knows how can point me in the right direction to do this!
