Hi Brett
I have tried to reproduce your fault, and cannot. It seems as if your version of Pano2VR is not recognising the place holders.
I say this because if you put a place holder in a text box you should not be able to see it. The help!!!! Swf you posted clearly shows the place holders, this should be impossible.
This tells me there is something wrong with your installation of Pano2VR.
Can I ask, are you using the latest version?
Did you ever download Pano2VR to have a play, and then uninstall it?
Then downloaded it again and then purchased the licence key?
Have you ever downloaded Object2VR and had a play?
Also Pano2QTVR and had a play?
Have you another computer which you can install Pano2VR on to test?
If the other computer works fine and its your computer, skip to “Skip to Here” at the bottom.
If it still does not work then do the following until the “Skip to Here” bit as its not your computer.
Just to confirm, this is going to sound like me teaching you how to suck eggs, but please follow the below.
When you download the zip file, it should be titled Test.ZIP and should be on your desk top.
If you are using WinZip, right button click and drag the ghost image of the WinZip icon next to it and then let go, a menu should appear.
Left button click the words, WinZip.
Left button click, Extract to here.
A new folder should appear on your desktop called Test.
Open the Test folder and you should see the five files, pano picture, project file, swf and your png picture.
Do not rename anything or move any files from this folder, all the following is carried out from within the Test folder on your desktop.
Open the project file, 7.p2vr, now click on the Parameters button (Spanner Button) in the Flash output on the right hand side.
Confirm that the skin file location is displaying $d\Test.ggsk
If not, use the drop down box and select it, it should be the one at the very top.
Click the Edit… button to open the skin.
In the Tree field on the right, double click the top text box named Text 1.
The text field should have $ui in.
Text 2 should have $us
Text 3 should have $uc.
Click OK and return to the flash output window.
Now close the flash output window and return to the project file.
Click the Modify button in the User Data section.
The following fields should have the following text:
Copyright: <img src="picture.png" hspace="0" vspace="0" width="79" height="175">
Source: <img src="picture.png" hspace="0" vspace="0" width="79" height="175">
Information: <img src="picture.png">
Click OK
Click Create All and then click the Open output file button.
You should see the pano with the three pictures.
Skip to Here:
If you still get the same problem I would suggest it is your installation of Pano2VR.
If you are fairly competent with windows I would do the following, otherwise get someone who is, as the next procedure, if not followed properly will screw up you computer, big time.
Save all your Pano2VR work and move the files to a backup drive or CD, so they are not on your computer at all. I say this because we need to do a “clean” install which means removing every thing to do with Pano2VR.
Now completely Uninstall Pano2VR.
What you need to do next is get to the Windows Registry Editor, Run, regedit.
Make sure that the word Computer at the very top is selected.
Click Edit, click Find, then in the Find What text field type in Pano2VR.
Then click find next.
All files left over will be found, delete them. Pressing F3 on your keyboard will start the search to look for the next file.
Keep on doing this, looking at both sides of the window, folders to the left and files to the right. Delete any reference to Pano2VR.
Once done, download pano2VR from the website, and then install it.
Download the Test file from the forum and have a look at it, does it work?
This is all that I can do over the web, but of course, if anyone knows any better, please feel free to input.
All the best Hopki
