Hello all,

I have a question regarding the display of text in Pano:
When you create textbox without background, the font is displayed blurred / with shadow, see attachment.
Especially annoying with light colors, because the shadow is then especially noticeable.

However, as soon as a background color is set or, for example, a rectangle is placed behind it, the text appears without this bug.

Are there any experience values for this? Is it possible to fix the bug somehow?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi,
Can you post your skin or a skin that shows this?

Hi Hopki,

I'm working with the newest version of Pano2VR and a modified Simplex Skin. But you can easily reproduce this with a clean Simplex Skin and just placing a white text before a light background panorama.

All my colleagues working with Pano2VR have the same issue.

Attached you find a Simplex Skin with a text box which has the same display problem and also a screenshot of the situation.
Via dm or mail I could also send you an example panorama.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,
This looks ok to me in a test panorama.
I am not seeing any issues.
Anyone else see anything odd?

What I would suggest is send in a support package: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15514 into support, link below.
Make sure you include the project file, panorama and your skin.
Can you also say which browser and OS you are using?

I did a very quick test and when I push the browser window to the 2nd monitor, that "effect" is not as strong as on my main monitor.

But yes, I can detect almost the same behavoir as BTO has reportet.

Just as remark:
PC: WIN10 Pro
Main monitor: Eizo GC245W (1920x1200px) - no scaling
2nd monitor: a cheap office monitor by Philips (2560×1440) but that one is scaled by Windows to 125%

So I would also check, if scaling and sharpening adjustments of the monitor could have some impact/influence

Hello all,

thank you very much for your feedback!
@soulbrother: Which browser do you use?

I tried different OS and browsers again myself.
On macOS the font is displayed correctly with all browsers.
On Windows 10, the described problem occurs with Firefox (latest version), but not with Chrome and Edge.

So the problem can be limited to Windows 10 + Firefox for me. This is annoying, but seems to be a rendering problem of Firefox...

I would exclude the scaling settings of Windows, since I do not have this problem on other pages / in other apps.

Best, BTO

HI BTO,
It's good that it's been nailed down to Windows and Firefox.
But this is a lesson to all, when reporting issues, things like macOS or Windows and OS version along with browser are a must when reporting an issue.
But thanks for the heads up.
I'll add a bug report as we will need to see if this is just a browser bug, which I feel it could be or Firefox has made a change that we now have to address.

Good news on the subject:
The latest Firefox update (89.0) fixes the display problem on Windows :D
