I have a cloner set us to show a floor plan based on image tags. but I need the thumbnails to only show the same tagged images (so the only thumbs the ones that match the floor plan...

Can I just nest the thumbnail cloner in the above cloner?

Hi, no need.
Use a "Set Value" action to set the tag to the Thumbnail Menus Cloner.
When you want to have the menu show all nodes again, use the Set Value action but leave it blank.
