Hi,

I've just published a new tutorial called Floating Nadir Logo. It adds a clickable logo to the skin that isn't fixed to the rotation of the panorama and retains its original orientation. A full set of files are available for download to use with the tutorial.

Once again comments and feedback are appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony

When adding a floating nadir hotspot and setting it up on the master what would be the best way to keep it to scale when you zoom in or out?

Hi GPWalsh,

I've just posted an update to my 'Floating Nadir Logo' tutorial. Dizzz Gil posted a comment on the tutorial showing how a modifier could resize the logo as the user zooms in and out.

It's under the section 'Add a modifier to resize the logo'

This is very handy if you are using the nadir logo to hide an object eg tripod. Resizing the logo as the FoV of the panorama changes means the object will always be covered.

cheers,

Tony

Thanks Tony for this tutorial!
I have one little problem when I'm hiding a tripod with the floating nadir logo: looking 90° down to the nadir, everything looks perfect. But while panning towards the horizon, the logo isn't covering the tripod anymore. Due to the distortion the tripod becomes visible at the edges.
Is there a way to enlarge the logo while the pan-angle changes? Using a second modifier didn't help (scale + tilt/pan-angle; German: "Neigungswinkel").

Hi,

If you are running into issues when the tilt movement of the panorama distorts the image at the nadir you need to set the size of the logo to cover the area at that point of tilt.

So set your patch, tilt the panorama to a point where the area you want to cover is just hidden, then you need to adjust the size of the logo to match and cover to that point.

There may be a way to scale it using the modifiers and I'll take a look at that.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your answer.
I prefer a small logo - so making the logo bigger all the time is not a good solution for me. If you find a way to scale the patch while tilting, please let us know. Unfortunately I haven't been successful so far...
