Hi,

Since today I get an error message in the space where the Google Maps map should be when viewing a tour on my local machine.

Image

(it says: "Oops, something went wrong. Google Maps is not installed correctly on this page. See the JavaScript-console for technical details)

When inspecting the browser page I see an error massage saying:
"Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/docu ... -map-error"

I googled it a bit further and noticed this page that was posted yesterday:

http://googlegeodevelopers.blogspot.nl/ ... oogle.html

HI Arjan,
Have you got a link to your page, I have checked our Layer Marney Tour example on our website which has a Google Map and is working fine.
So it snot something up with Google as I would see the same thing.
Have you done anything with your hosting?
Any updates?

Hopki

Hi Hopki,

Wow, you are fast !

It is http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Ommen-Wolventuin/

But, the online tours are (still) functioning correctly, it is the tour that I start localy on my PC that is giving this error (When developing or when used as a Demo). I tried some more tours and I don't see Google maps anymore within the tour. When starting the same tour on my server (online) it just works fine.

Somewhere I've read:
"As per Google recent announcement, usage of the Google Maps APIs now requires a key. If you are using the Google Maps API on localhost or your domain was not active prior to June 22nd, 2016, it will require a key going forward. Please see the Google Maps APIs documentation to get a key and add it to your application."

I presume that when you create a new domain the online version will also not work because they white-listed existing domains that were using Google Maps before the 22 of June ... The white-listing will end in october 2016 ...

see: https://developers.google.com/maps/pric ... -questions

Hi Arjan,
I see a Google map using your link!

http://www.skyfocus.nl/SkyFocus/Tours/Ommen-Wolventuin/

Do you still not see the Map?
Its not a setting on your server or firewall setting?
No updates on your server etc, etc.

Hello Hopki,

I'm avraid you don't understand me.

The online version works (also for me), it is when I have the tour local on my machines harddisk (while developing) that I get this message. I have to upload the tour if I want to see the Google Map. And as I understand it correctly, this will also break online after october 2016, then you have to use a Google Api key to be able to use Google Maps.

Hi Hopki,

I was preparing a demo for you to upload, and as of today, this morning 24-6-2016 the map
works again in tours on local machines .... !?!?!? Until yesterday 23-6 it gave me the above error, on all machines
and browsers I could think off ....

Very strange ....

I'll keep you informed when I see this behavior popping up again.

Arjan

Hi

Since few days ago I'm experiencing the same bug.

- When I edit GoogleMap data in pano2vr I can see a map.
- When I want publish it and see it via p2vr server I see "Oops! Something went wrong." error
- When I see it by clicking index.html file with Windows Explorer I can see map OK

For example these are few months old projects:
1. http://www.krk360.com/vrbnik/ (click map icon on the bottom, last one)
2. http://www.krk360.com/acbor/ (click GoogleMap button in minimap top right)

I created this one today and Google map shows error:
3. http://www.znaor.hr/takamak/ (click map icon on the bottom, last one)
I got an idea, so i uploaded this one on another server, like previous 2 panos where it works:
4. http://www.krk360.com/takamak/ And guess what? Map works.

Something is definitely changed how GoogleMap works.
For URL where Gmap in pano 1, 2 and 4 works, I requested API code,
but not for URL where pano 3 is located.

So it will be a problem to test maps on local server because google api cannot reach it.

Hi,

Just a quick question about this key setting. I'm setting this key in the skin in the Google maps parameters. This works fine for local browsers and for the website the key is meant for (skyfocus.nl). Only the pano2vr build-in browser still gives an error but I'm not using this browser.

Question is, when I'm transferring this tour to another website (the customers website) do I have to regenerate the tour with the customers key, or can I just replace the key inside one of the generated tour files. I did a quick search but could not find the key in the project files.

Arjan

I was able to get the maps working two days ago with both localhost and on my website but now I am also having the same error message. I can not get google maps to work any more.

I turned on Safari's error console with localhost and the following error report was provided:
