I have the same problem.
Now we can use hotspots with proxy and use action "Move to view". It looks bad, but works. One can store f/o/v in hotspot_target ($ht), for example.

I want to have "Set view" action...

If you are looking at canon 10-22, so take a look at sigma 10-20 (it is cheaper, but a little bit better than canon 10-22 for some reasons)

To embed swf into pano it should be flash 8 version (at least for p2vr swf). There is no such behavior if you make map swf in flash 8 format. Meantime I cant make FLAT map in 8 version...

I use canon 400d + sigma 10-20mm + self made head.
At the begining I used kit lens (@18mm)

I think thal FF camera + fisheye can help a lot.
About noise - I use iso 800 and lightroom. Often I do can reduce noise. Try to play with it.
