16 bit support!

Hi Thomas, I second the need for 16 bit support as I've been testing the SuperRune filter too and while it's a nice concept, it's quite limited to the file sizes it can process. It seems to only work on EQ's upto about 6,000 by 3,000 pixels. I'm usually using at least a 8,000 by 4,000 master file an...

Beta 2 error

using mostly defaults, just change window size and optimum tile size to 900 by 631 and 901 respectively, and turning on auto rotate - set to 15 seconds, getting almost immediate : "Exception Raised: 0 " dialog box when trying to generate QT movie. After clicking OK, output task added to &q...

Memory Limits

Thomas,

Any comments? Is this different on a MAC?

Memory Limits?

In the prior version there were limits on the cube face and EQ file sizes that could be imported or produced. An EQ file of over 20,000 pixels wide would not process nor a cube face of over 5,000 pixels.

Have these limits been removed by the new version?

Robert

very strange conversion behavior

v1.6.5. I've got a project file with something terriably wrong in it, it's the strangest ting I've ever seen from this fine program. I've got a client that wants 6 different sizes of a VR done in QT. no problem, I already finished producing most of these, each time using a copy of the prior project ...

technical stuff

Camera - Canon 400D Lens - Canon 10-22mm at about 19mm Precision360 Adjuste head Shots required - 38 per set - ouch! Number of exposures - 3 per set or rotation - triple ouch! 114 total with mirror lock up, yes 228 clicks with shutter speed as low as 8 seconds - do the math, this took a bit of time ...

Austin

Thanks for the compliment 360Texas. Sorry to say I just flew back to Chicago a few days after the South by SouthWest festival was over. Really a shame as the blue bonnets were really coming up. I've made it a personal goal to make a few really nice panoramas of this beautiful flower. O'well, perhaps...

FOV limits in Settings

With the ever increasing use of wide format displays and vastly different pixel dimensions used, a question new at least to me is: How does the limit in settings for FOV work, is it relative to the window size set when the VR is produced? The reason I'm asking is in another forum someone just showed...

One more note

After even more testing I've found what appears to be the next limit, cube face size. If I try and convert my now downsized equirectangular image (20,000 by 10,000 pixels) to cube faces it fails if I let Pano2QTVR determine the cube face size. It will appear to be working, produces 4 of the 6 faces ...

Memory Limits

So I guess a couple of things would help? Have only Pano2QTVR running. Reduce the file to 8 bit and convert to JPEG. And increase memory beyond 2 gigabytes on Windows XP? If I remember correctly Windows can use some amount of memory for the system above 2 gigs? Any other ideas? Regards, Robert UPDAT...

20,000 pixels

I downsized the file to 20,000 pixels wide and it works as expected, so I'm assuming their is a limit somewhere above 20,000 pixels.

File Size Limits?

Trying to convert a 16 bit tiff, 24,214 wide equirectangular to a MOV file, using tile size of 1501, compression of 73. The input file is about 1.6 gigabytes in size. PANO2QTVR appears to have stopped, at least it's not using any CPU cycles and has been left to run for over 1/2 hour, has not even st...

A bit of help?

First let me say, the sooner you can add menu driven hotspots for Flash, the better! :D I'm not a Flash guru by any sense of the word, the last version I even looked at from the tools side was 5, and then only for a couple of weeks, so please be kind if I ask really stupid questions. I've downloaded...
