+1 for seeing it built into the skin editor, as per the bug tracker entry
I'm working on a project now with lots of animated GIFs… hope to see it implemented in v5.x!

Re: Can all hotspots be deactivated when a dialog is shown?
One simple workaround is to create a fullscreen sized container behind any popup triggered by a hotspot press; it can be fully transparent or a tint. As it sits above any other hotspot buttons it means the user can't trigger other interactive items by mistake. If you use a tint (eg 20% white or blac...

Re: Oculus Rift VR Support
Hey Jim I thought if anyone would've looked at Pano2VR for displaying Oculus / HMD friendly pano content, it would be you! Regardless of the challenge of a UI (something Key, I appreciate, especially for tours rather than standalone panos) would you care to share how you achieve the side by side vie...

Re: Printed panorama
If you want a single image, consider Panini (Vedutismo) projection as it can show a wide FOV with relatively little distortion If you want a series of immersive large format print to show a full 360° you could look at several different prints, side by side… as per Jare's example. Here I printed a se...

Re: Confused about SVG files in Pano2VR
I've found it's beneficial to use UI elements as SVGs for several reasons • Text elements look clean and legible, without embedding custom fonts • Whether they remain as SVG or are rendered as PNGs (for Flash-based tours) they display well on different sizes of screens as long as they're not scaled ...

Re: how to insert aligned video into a panorama
Great proof of concept, Jim… nice work. I've not used Video Stitcher before, that's a good idea. I'll have to try out this workflow.
Your output doesn't seem to work it HTML5 (yet)… wonder if it's a memory issue with such a long video clip?

Re: 4.5 Beta crashes permanently
Hi Sebastian
Open Console (in Applications > Utilities)
Depending on which version of the OS you're running, you should see User Diagnostic Reports in the left hand sidebar… you should seen Pano2VR or any other app you're having problems with listed in there. Hope this helps

Does $f work? Or have you tried an underscore rather than a hyphen e.g. $d_$n.jpg?

Re: Pano2VR Template Input File Issue
Carlos, if you're saving a template based on a .p2vr file, you can test the .p2vr file is using the correct input type by opening it in a text editor. <input> <patch/> <type>flat</type> <filename></filename> <filenamefront></filenamefront> <filenameright></filenameright> <filenameback></filenameback...

Re: Flash Panoramas - END of a short era?
There are still a few things Flash can do which HTML5 can't… but when we get Pano2VR 4.5 with multi-res, I think the writing will be on the wall for Flash unless it's specifically needed for a job. I will not miss it much…

Re: Social media preview picture
Easiest way is to add a transformation when published from Pano2VR, and output a small preview image in whichever projection setting you think will be best… little planet, equirect or rectilinear are all a good start. Then, when you publish the URL, simply add a JPEG of the above image to your post ...

Re: The voice of one crying in the wilderness
I myself have tried to manually blur the 6 sides of cube via Photoshop (from output files folder)... but of course it makes the seams on the sides of the cube edges. That probably goes some way to explaining why the feature's not there yet… it's an image processing one, and so probably requires a l...

Re: The voice of one crying in the wilderness
I'd vote for a dissolve (and a fade to colour) transition for HTML5 too. But I'd rather have multi-res HTML5, which I hope should be with us very soon… transitions would be a bonus once that's been delivered. I wonder if there's a way round the blur load issue using existing technologies and some cl...

Re: Distortions I can't get rid off
Two suggestions. First, try a preview direct from PTGui and see if the distortions are present in that. This should help to understand if the distortion is due to the image itself, or some remapping issue in Pano2VR. I'd suspect it;'s the latter form what you've posted… Second, make the image a 2:1 ...
