Re: a DevalVR-like compass
Hi Firehell, Yes, I already did that in my first rotating compass prototype, but as I explained earlier it is not the type I am after. Alas I may be forced to use a rotating compass after all, because there seems to be no usable parameter for correcting North-orientation for a linear-type compass wh...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
Setting/resetting the 'Move X according to Pan value'-Offset through an Action isn't possible I think, the Offset that is changed in the Action is the position of the compass image itself, which is not the Offset I want to change. I need a parameter like 'Angle' used for the radar, and it doesn't se...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
Hi Wim! I must admit that I am struggling with this linking business. Behaviour of the skin elements I am using is not all as I would expect, I get one (unwelcome) surprise after the other : ( For a set of just two interlinked panos I don't want a map in view, so I made an invisible dummy with ditto...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
Just thought of another thing: in a series of linked panoramas you want the offset to be correct for each individual pano, but all will 'inherit' the skin, and thus the offset of the initial one! That's not good of course, so something has to be done about that....., let's see how it works with thos...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
Thanks mr. Firehell, it looks very nice. However I need that compass for a technical purpose, not as trivial eyecandy so to speak, so it needs to be both accurate and easy to read. A rotating compass as such seems to be much more accurate than the band type I've been able to make so far, but it has ...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
I've got a band-type compass now. Finding the proper width of the .png for a 360 degree scale and the exact Modifier factor to lock it to the rotation of the pano is difficult. Also giving it an Offset in the Actions/Modifiers menu to get it pointing North breakes it at 180 degrees rotation. To work...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
This is a simple version of the basic idea: http://tinyurl.com/moddergat-small Not very pretty, downright ugly to be honest, but essentially what I want. I'd much prefer an endless band type to this rotating one, maybe like those Flash and Javascript banners, but not over the full width of the scree...

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
As an alternative I've made a rotating disk. That was very easy, with Rotate linked to Pan in the Modifiers menu.
But again, how do I mask the parts I don't want to see? Or, how to make a window for a just a small part of the rotating disk?
Erik

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
This method appears to be very non linear, not really what I'm looking for.
Hmmm, I think what I need is a very small cilindrical 'panorama' with the compass on it, project it in the big one, and then link their pan angles.
Showing a panorama in a panorama....is that possible?

Re: a DevalVR-like compass
It's a good start indeed! But I'd like to make it look more like the Deval compass, so I don't want the indicators to be visible over the entire width of the screen. I haven't yet found a way to mask their visibility left and right of the centre, any ideas anyone? In other words, I want to make some...

Re: Bug with Flash 8 panorama when going to Fullscreen
I'm not 100% sure, but if I remember correctly full-screen is not possible at all with Flash8

Thanks Thomas!
Perhaps mr. Firehell can tell us if the maker allows us to adapt and/or use it?

Re: Pano2VR 2.2 beta3 released
About the domain lock: would it be possible to enter more than just one domain name? For example, my website can be reached using a .com AND a .nl URL, but binding content to only one of them would make the other useless. Perhaps there are more situations where this possibility would be convenient, ...
