Re: Flash 10

'Smoothness' or 'fluidity' or whatever you want to call it is just one quality of a VR image. Geometry ('waviness') is another. Geometry quality of Flash 9 VR images can, by design, only be on a scale of 'not very good' to 'bloody awful', while default geometry of Flash 10 VR images is almost perfec...

Re: Pano2VR 2.1.0 released

I've converted almost 80 of my panos to Flash10 now and I must say it is really really worth all the time and effort, man did they improve! Thanks for making this pre-version available Thomas, the fact that those panos are compatible with Flash10 plugins AND Flash9 ones is a wonderful bonus! Cheers!...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10

Sadly installing updates/upgrades of plugins like Flash is not possible for many (corporate) users, automatic or not, so we'll probably have to keep our version 9 content available for quite some time.
Nothing to be done about it I guess.

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10

When!when!when! And.... will those Flash10 VR's be compatible with version 9 players? If not (as is most likely) we'll all have quite some work ahead of us, adding an extra Flash-version detectionscript AND generating and uploading new Flash10 versions of all our VR's to our websites. Oh well, what ...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10 beta

That featurelist looks VERY promising, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have to re-encode all our panos to make use of them. I also seriously doubt that those Flash10 versions are going to be downwards-compatible with Flash9, so we'll may have to maintain yet another plugin selection option for a y...

Re: Edited TIFF cube faces > remapping errors

Sorry guys, I wish I could tell you otherwise, but neither Pano2VR nor Photoshop is at fault here. Photoshop cannot be expected to be 'smart' enough to know that those squares are supposed to be assembled into a seamless VR box, and when it detects a high contrast edge in what it considers to be one...

Re: Edited TIFF cube faces > remapping errors

How very strange. I do the same all the time, i even resize (scale) those cubefaces to smaller dimensions in Photoshop for lower rez versions. Did you try setting the face dimensions to the actual size yourself instead of auto detect? (that's what i always do) If the image content of the .jpg's is i...

Re: impossible to work from cubefaces image

Normally, a stitched full 360 spherical panorama image is 5000 x 2500 pixels. Huh? Since when is that so? If you mean that any 360x180 degree equirectangular image must have a 2:1 width-to-height ratio to work in Pano2(QT)VR okay , but those dimensions are by no means limited to figures like 5000 x...

Re: Flash image quality

Oh, and please be very careful when you work on equirectangulars with things like 'highlights/shadows' in Photoshop! Photoshop does not work 'around the corner', it won't always adjust the image the same right and left, and so the seam can become very visible. I think this, or something similar, is ...

Re: Flash image quality

Well, i'd say the difference is quite dramatic indeed. But the QuickTime version is not exactly what i would expect it to be either, if i may be so blunt. From a good 4000x2000px equirectangular you really should be able to produce a 1.30MB .mov that has MUCH more detail and still looks great in a w...

Re: Flash image quality

@ sparrowhawk360: Maybe you forgot to add the link to the QuickTime version? I had a quick look at the examples on your website. I hope i don't sound too unfriendly, but were they all made with your old gear? Do you have any you made with your new setup for us to see? Perhaps you should describe you...

Re: Flash 9 and Screen locking up when viewing Full Screen

In another thread i already posted a possible solution i stumbled upon, but to make sure everyone who has this problem sees it i'll mention it here too: Rightclick in a Flash pano screen to show the contextmenu. Click on ' Settings... ' to reveal the option ' Display - Enable hardware accelleration ...

Re: Fullscreen Flash and IE Flash plugin 9.0.115.0 (WinXP)

I ran FlashUtil9e.exe and it said there was an update available, so i had it download that update. Then i was instructed that a new version of Flash would be active after restarting my computer, so i did that. All of this had no effect whatsoever, nothing was updated at all. I ran FlashUtil9e.exe ag...

Re: Fullscreen Flash and IE Flash plugin 9.0.115.0 (WinXP)

FlDbg9e.ocx cannot be found on my computer, only Flash9e.ocx (2.85MB) version 9,0,115,0 in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. Could it be that FlDbg9e.ocx is installed with Adobe Flex?

Re: Flash 9 and Screen locking up when viewing Full Screen

Same problem here, but with IE6 on WinXP Pro. Only one of my computers has it, and i had a suspicion it was caused by Firefox being installed on the same machine. If you've seen it happen on PC's with only IE on it, we can rule that out. SOMETIMES, immediately after booting, this PC of mine seems to...
