a DevalVR-like compass

Hi all, I'd like to make a compass for Flash like I have in some of my DevalVr panos. It would seem obvious to me that Pano2VR's radar could somehow be (mis)used for this, but I haven't yet studied it in detail. Did any of you make something like this already, and did it work? It would be nice to kn...

Re: Can a hotspot launch a stand-alone flat image?

Embedding the actual (big) images in the Flash file would significantly increase its filesize wouldn't it? Linking to seperate files would be preferable I think, so everything can be downloaded bit by bit. Perhaps some kind of 'placeholder' can be made in the skin, in which the external image can be...

Re: Hotspot images

Hmm, the only difference between an image and a button seems to be that cursor change.
So I replaced all clickable images by buttons, got my little hand where I wanted it now.
Silly me : )

Re: Hotspot images

It is even simpler just to make the text as part of your image in Photoshop and that way you can use any font you like! Of course I did that first, but the text was badly 'fuzzed' by Photoshop anti-aliasing it. Because I had the stand alone viewer still open, making the screenshot and cropping to t...

Re: Hotspot images

Flash 9 can not handle alpha on text and ignores it There's a simple workaround for that if you really need it : ) Just make a screenshot of your pano (with the text) in the Flash9 standalone player, import it in Photoshop (or whatever), crop away everything around the text and make the background ...

Re: v2.2 beta2 - Hotspots in QTVR output?

After finding out I couldn't use those wonderful point hotspots yesterday, I successfully added 'aerial' hotspots to a number of QuickTime panos made from small 1050x1050 tiles. I uploaded them to my website and they work ok. Now I am trying to do the same with larger versions of the same panos, mad...

Re: v2.2 beta2 - Hotspots in QTVR output?

Ah! they were those fancy point hotspots I made for the Flash version. Apparently I overlooked their being limited to Flash.
I guess I'll have to make seperate .p2vr files for the QT output then. That's a shame.

v2.2 beta2 - Hotspots in QTVR output?

Perhaps I am missing something incredibly obvious here, but when I let Pano2VR (v2.2 beta2) make a QuickTime pano (remember those?) I don't see any hotspots in the output. In the Flash output those hotspots are present and working fine though. Is this my error, a feature, or perhaps one of those unp...

Re: Pano2VR 2.2 beta released

In my example of wobbling hotspots (posted elsewhere on this forum) I already use the method you mentioned to fade both the text and the button simultaniously and each with its own alpha value. Besided the transparancy I also scaled the button element when the cursor is entering the hotspot. I saw ...

Re: Pano2VR 2.2 beta released

Indeed, and I just found out you can make the hotspot text a child of the button images, so it fades with them AND it still can have its own alpha variations.
But still, a button to toggle all hotspots on and off at once would be nice.

"Many users complain about how visually intrusive hot spots are. It will be great to provide the option to turn them off."

Re: Beta 2.2 2 point hotspots broken?

I had some difficulty getting them to work too. I made a new version of one of my panos with a hotspot-link to an existing one, made with Pano2VR v2.1.1, and it didn't work just like yours. The Flash10 standalone player didn't give any clue about what was wrong, but the Flash9 one did give some erro...

Re: Pano2VR 2.2 beta released

I guess this is the effect of the bitmap limit Flash 9 introduced at some point. A bitmap can not be larger then 2880 in one dimension so I need to reduce the size to be on the safe side. This limiting is implement in Pano2VR for some time now so this has nothing to do with Flash 10. Hmmm, if that ...

Re: Pano2VR 2.2 beta released

Too bad Flash10 cilindricals didn't make it in this beta yet. Even so it looks like some cilindrical-related things in Pano2VR did change, but apparently not all for the better. A cilindrical I made in december 2007 with beta3 in Flash9 was 3,224 kB in size; with exactly the same settings in 2.2 bet...
