Settings to get the most detail from an equirectanglar shot

I see in Photoshop that the original TIFF equirectangular file has more detail than the final Flash Panorama. Could someone clarify, in simple terms, tile settings and Display settings to get the most out the TIFF while keeping the Flash file size managable? eg. Cube Face Size : What is the differen...

Re: Jane Austen Walkabout

Not really. As it's on my patch, it was a shot I had to get and I had a vague idea of what I wanted. Someone was attempting a Gigapan of everybody standing in a line outside the Royal Crescent. After 20 minutes - the crowd got fed up so I just grabbed people, got them to cluster round me and took ab...

Thomas, where are you?

Are you OK? We haven't heard anything from you in weeks. Any chance of a progress report?

Soundscapes

I finally got a piece together which I'm sort of happy with.

I'm finding that sound is a lot more difficult than I had appreciated. But it does add a huge extra dimension.

Comments are very welcome

Agreed Luke.

I've got a lot of stuff backed up too.

In fact, I haven't heard much from Thomas recently - still moving?

First Sound Pan - advice needed

I've taken the plunge and decided to take sound seriously (I've spent money). As I think Binaural is the closest we can get to VR in sound, it seems an ideal match. I've got Soundman mics and an H2 recorder. The file is: www.j-a-willetts-esq.com/daffs.html I'm a complete newby in this field and I wo...

Binaural Sound

Thanks to Jan's question about in-ear mikes, I started to investigate and bells soon began to ring. What we have here is Binaural Sound which, to my mind, is the audio equivalent to what we are doing visually i.e. virtual reality. Believe it or not, there are guys out there doing Virtual Binaural To...

Re: Directional Sound

It's looking more interesting. But has anyone got any experience of using these mics with the zoom H2 recorder?

And is the power pack necessary for recording ambient sound?

Re: Sound

> to all zoom h2 users and sound recording panographers: did anyone test an in-ear mic like the okm by soundman? should be a good solution to record sound for a real immersive pano experience. I've taken a look at their web site and their ambient sound samples are impressive. What would we do for a...
