Re: HDR

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough: I wrote above that none of my panos, including the 'room with the view', are HDR/LDR . I did not write that I do not use multiple exposures, instead I wrote I use exposure Fusing and manual masking in Photoshop. That is what I have used for practically all of...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

Please read this carefully: IF you only want a progress bar for your Pano2VR panoramas, AND/OR IF you are clueless about ActionScript3 programming, THEN STOP wasting your time! Again: look at this tutorial video on how to make a progress bar using Pano2VR's skin editor http://gardengnomesoftware.com...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

It doesn't matter what name you choose for your progress bar, it can be 'ProgressBar' or 'LoadIndicator' or whatever you want, as long as you use the same name for it everywhere in your Flash project. Why would a normal preloader work just fine in the Flash preview but not work online? Don't know, c...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

Didn't you get an error message like "URL not found"? You have: var url:String = "http://www.photosynergy.net/hannesbecker/livingroom.swf"; Better make that a relative path like: var url:String = "../hannesbecker/livingroom.swf"; For testing on your own computer just put your preloader .swf and 'liv...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

Then add your load indicator code, like this for instance: loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, loop); function loop(e:ProgressEvent):void { var perc:Number = e.bytesLoaded / e.bytesTotal; percent.text = Math.ceil(perc*100).toString(); LoadIndicator.width = perc * 400; /...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

Only use ActionScript 3 . Copy this bit, and adapt it so your .swf filename, URL and dimensions replace the example name and dimensions Thomas used: import flash.display.*; import flash.net.URLRequest; import flash.events.Event; var loader:Loader; loader = new Loader(); var url:String = "park.swf";...

Re: A Preloader to load the SWF

Did you have a look at the ActionScript code and instructions Thomas provided on this page by any chance?

Re: HDR

If you are talking about my pano, I must disappoint you, I don't do HDR/LDR, ever . I think HDR/LDR nearly always looks absolutely horrible! So I use PTGui's native 'exposure fusing' instead + a lot of manual masking etc. in Photoshop. You cannot do without at least some work in Photoshop if you are...

Re: a Room with a View! (Pano2VR+Flash/AS3)

Thanks guys!

Mind you, there's still a lot that needs to be fixed.
But the basic design works, that was the biggest hurdle to jump.

Cheers!

a Room with a View! (Pano2VR+Flash/AS3)

Hi all, I've finally managed to make my first (prototype) Pano2VR pano of a room with a 'real' outside view! When you look around in the interior, the outside view through the windows doesn't move with it anymore as if it was pasted on the glass. In stead I've built in (a simulation of) a small amou...

Re: Transparency in cube faces?

Solved the problem :D Posted details in a different thread ( http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4030#p15916 ) Here's a screenshot of my testpano showing transparent areas where the pano behind it is visible: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/4335358693_3e312cbb1a.jpg Erik

Re: Stack of Two - (AS3 Preloader experiment)

YESSS!!! I've solved the non-transparency problem! Turns out I was very close to a solution all the time, but just needed a hint from the book 'ActionScript 3.0 Cookbook' (O'Reilly) chapter 8.3. I had this in my AS3 code: new BitmapData(1050,1050, true); which gave a non-transparent background showi...

Re: Stop video 3x2

When changing from the panorama picture to the video there is a quick but annoying black screen flicker. Does anyone knows if it is posible to make that transition in a smooth way? Can't you insert a timed delay? So visibility or alpha is only given when the video really is ready? I had to use a de...

Re: Over/Under (Pano2VR+Flash-AS3)

Here's an example using proper 'Before and After' panoramas made by PhotoSpherix: http://tinyurl.com/P2VR-OverUnder-PhotoSpherix In spite of the obviously excessive HFoV it does give a better idea of what this particular preloader could be used for than my previous test version. Thanks for letting m...

Re: Over/Under (Pano2VR+Flash-AS3)

Do a forum search, you'll find I've done my fair share of sharing here, AND some! Besides, I've already disclosed how I do these tricks, it's all over this forum. There's nothing secret about it at all, you can find everything you need to know on the Garden Gnome website, apparently hiding in plain ...
