Re: image quality issue

Dave, thank you for the ... historical summary. I do remember quite well the times when I used to dial-in at 56kb ... At the time it felt like a big improvement over 28kb! You said that Panorama Images are by definition 2:1 aspect ratio. Where the stitched image width is double the image height like...

Re: image quality issue

Hi Hopki, Thank you very much for your feedback. I have a follow-up question. You said: The viewer uses the full resolution of the input image. So the viewers resolution would be that of the multi resolution output. So when I zoom into viewer pano2VR is using a multi-resolution version of the input ...

Re: image quality issue

Hi Hopki, thank you for your feedback. I'd like to better understand the quality issue, though. Here is my question: What exactly is being shown in the preview pane ? Is the image a true panorama (i.e. an output view) or simply a view onto the original rectangular input image scrolled horizontally? ...

Re: image quality issue

One more thing:

I was using a single resolution setting. I did a test with multi-resolution at the default values. The quality improved dramatically.

Best,

Re: image quality issue

Thank you both of you. These are my data: Input pano: 13777 x 1653 px; Suggested optimal cube face size: 1273px. That's what I have selected for a additional test. Quality: was 90%, I raised it to 100%; Tile quality: was 90%, I increased it to 100%; One more thing. Here is the code I use in my templ...

image quality issue

I have attached two screenshots showing the same scene: The first was taken from the preview panel in pano2VR 5. The second from the generated output in the Safari browser. As you can tell, the second image, the one taken in Safari, is of less quality. I am not sure what to make of this. I thought t...

Re: How to detect a "click" on a given hotspot

Hi Hopki, Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, I could do that, but then I would have to use 2 scripts instead of just one (long story). However, I did manage to use the onclick property in the hotspot object, like so: var myHotSpot = pano.getHotspot("spotId"); myHotSpot.div.onclick = function () { ...

How to detect a "click" on a given hotspot

Hi: I need to programmatically trigger a script upon clicking on a specific hotspot. The list of available actions doesn't allow me to do that, as far as I can tell. Looking at the JS API, I was able to retrieve a specific hotspot object. The console shows me the object properties, so I can select a...

Re: getting current nodeID through JS - please help

Update: I did some additional testing of various JS APIs. Most of them work, but there is a second one that either I don't understand how to use or is somehow not working quite right. Here is the relevant code section in the template. It's the only part of the normal template that I have modified: w...

Re: getting current nodeID through JS - please help

pano.getNodeIds() works fine, I get ["node1", "node2"] as expected.

Re: getting current nodeID through JS - please help

Thanks! Yes, that did indeed work. However, to make it work programmatically, I had to switch loading the xml file from asynchronously to synchronously. One more issue: one function call that just won't work is pano.getNodeUserdata("nodeId") I did enter some information in the User Data form, but th...

getting current nodeID through JS - please help

I have been trying for a while now to get the current nodeID using JS, but I just seem unable to use this API. Here is what I did: I created a test tour with just two nodes. I have linked the panos and added a skin. In the HTML normal template I checked off "direct node access". In the normal html t...
