Pano2VR 4.0 beta 3 bug reporting

Issue: HTML from v4b3 not working correctly, failing to trigger content I hit a problem last night where projects built using beta2 wouldn't output correctly from beta3. On running the HTML file from output, the browser screen just displays the message This content requires HTML5/CSS3, WebGL, or Ad...

How to use a 'Master node' in 4b3 for user data

OK, I'm intrigued by what Thomas says about having "A "master node" for tour settings like default user data" http://gardengnomesoftware.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7556#p30011 This sounds great as just today I've been struggling with an issue in beta2 where I had to manual...

Issue editing skin.xml

Hi I'm working on a big project with a fairly complex series of skins for different levels. I've created one 'master' version, and now need to change some variable prefix in the other complimentary skins. It's a bit of a faff to do manually, would be hundreds of manual tweaks so I wanted to automate...

Re: Video for Pano2VR version 4.

Thanks Hopki, this is a useful piece. Is there a way to trigger the alternative file, based on browser type. Not to run a Web M version as in your example, but for example to run a higher and lower res version, depending on whether the user is on a desktop or mobile device? Cheers…

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

I'm working with a reasonably complex/asset-heavy skin (about 4Mb) with a single node, and the skin editor is becoming *very* unresponsive using 4b2 (Mac OS X 10.7.x, i7, 8Gb RAM, no other major apps open) We're talking 3-6 seconds between clicking an item and the appropriate dialogue box appearing…...

Re: Using unique hotspot data to trigger an action?

Very smart work Hopki, thanks for this.

Quite a few different permutations to try. I know, I've been clicking away and haven't managed to find the magic combination yet! Rinse and repeat :D

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

Thanks Hopki, that's a good point. I already have a very customised default template set up, but hadn't considered using an empty project for specific jobs. Very useful, cheers

Re: Anyone using leveling heads instead of ball heads?

When I started shooting (back with Realviz Stitcher in the mid 90s) I used a ball head, but benefitted from a levelling head when I upgrading my kit at work. Can't remember if it was a Kaidan or Manfrotto one: it was big and heavy and had a large nadir footprint (but we were using it on a 360° Preci...

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

Hi Hopki. Thanks, I understand better why it works that way now. It's partly having to change an almost reflex behaviour on my part… I may have to 'relearn' the way to do things, but I'm not complaining if it makes life easier in the long run, which I understand the tour browser is going to do. That'...

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

Thanks Hopki. Not sure if this next one is a bug or a feature ;-) but it's changing the way I've previously worked. Open an existing P2VR file, and drag and drop a new equirec to replace an old one in the 'input' window. By default in v4b2 this creates a new node in the tour browser - to directly rep...

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

Another one… this chimes with something I previously emailed about in 3.x. In Mac OS X, if one invokes the 'hide others' command when in another program and have a secondary window open in P2VR (such as convert / hotspot editor invoked from skin dialogue etc) i The main app UI doesn't respond (becau...

Re: Pano2VR beta 4 bugreport

A bug I've noticed in 4b2 on Mac. It seems to be reproducible with multiple files. When I open a .p2vr file originally created in v3.x, if I try to convert the input from an equirectangular to cube faces, the save location defaults to the Applications folder. If I point to a new location, such as th...

Re: V4 Beta 1 Geotagged data ?

Really happy to see this feature in P2VR 4b1. Well done so far guys! Just to add to requests for future developments (if possible) I'd be interested to see importing KMZ files. When I'm out on a shoot I often use a GPS app on my phone to geolocate, then import that into Google Earth. It's a great de...
