Pano map distortion when mouse has focus
This is a smallish problem, but takes a while to explain and also stops me using Pano2VR even in Flash 8 mode, so is fatal. As I still use AS2, in order to explore moving from Pano2QTVR v6.6 to Pano2VR I exported some Flash panoramas in Pano2VR to Flash 8, and the panoramas themselves work perfectly...

Re: Crossfades with Pano2QTVR
PS The source for the page almost all is created by Flash publishing apart from editing the page title, metatags and and background (black). ie the Flash objects aren't embedded in a pre-existing html page, the html page is created from my final aggregate Flash object. Flash version detection is all...

Re: Crossfades with Pano2QTVR
Dear 360Texas, Thank you for letting me know. I have been telling my Hosting Company (http://www.pickaweb.co.uk) for two months that they have a problem on their servers since my own Norton has been catching this kind of thing. I have reloaded index pages and the like in the past and that seems to f...

Re: Inserting flash pano in existing flash proyect
FTrippie,
I hadn't been on the forum for a while, so when I see orphan queries I like at least to make a suggestion. I'm pleased you solved it.
Nice looking site!
Best regards,
Brian

Re: Inserting flash pano in existing flash proyect
Frippie, I see you haven't had an answer to this, so I'll have a go - but I haven't tested the suggestion... ...maybe the answer is in the "1000" you have in the createEmptyMovieClip code. This sets the level for the pano in the page. If your other page resorces have a level HIGHER than th...

Re: Set size of Pano VR Tour to screen size
Gerad, I might be missing the point, but isn't this more to do with how you export you final Flash movie to html. I use the % method in the publishing definition so that if the user resizes their browser window, the whole movie resizes to follow that and nothing is clipped or lost. http://www.brians...

Re: making tours
Dear atomicmac, Have a look at my site http://www.briansutton.net. I think I'm doing almost exactly what you describe. I use xml files to contain the panorama filenames and information. There's quite a bit of editing to make them LINKED tours, but if you don't want hotspots between each pano in a pr...

Re: Crossfades with Pano2QTVR
Jim, I can't help you immediately, but on one of my sites I use a cross fade method for still images which is supposed to work for swfs as well, although I haven't made that work yet. The method comes from Philip Kerman, a well known Flash author. I have amended extensively one of his gallery codes ...

pano2qtvr version
Thomas, Just to lengthen the answer a bit with a further question - are the panos on your Park demo built with v1.6.6? I think if they could be, then it would avoid people getting this issue, you'd just tell everyone to update to 1.6.6 and execute the code as per the demo to prove it works. The same...

Pano display methods
Smooth,
What other methods do you have to display .swf panos? I have used PTGui and javascript for a panotools way of displaying equirectangular panoramas - all very Dersch-like - but there's not much around for Flash.
Thanks for your interest,
Brian

AS2 and AS3 differences?
Aha! well I use Actionscript 2 I believe you can choose either AS2 or AS3 in Flash CS3; i'm guessing that the demo code from Thomas is AS2 only, there ARE differences - he mentions it elsewhere on this site I think. Anyway, this explains why I can't open your code, and maybe it's wgy your pano doesn...

Controller location in pano2qtvr in versions before 1.6.5
Smooth, thanks for your reply, I have seen many of your other helpful contributions! I have always had the controller swf in the right place. As Thomas willl know, there has been an issue up to version 1.6.5 with the positioning of the output pano from pano2qtvr when using his demo code to embed a p...

Converting iPIX strips to equis with pano2VR
Thomas, I sent the iP*X cube strip file you need last week, I hope you got it. A small point about your Flash Park Demo - I'm wondering ifyou need to recompile it in version 1.6.6, because the existing version fails to display a controller when embedded in a bigger page. If you created the demo with...

Converting iPIX strips to equis with pano2VR
THomas, Thank you, I'll take a look and I'm sorry if I have missed something previously published. By the way, I have bought an upgrade copy of Pano2VR and at last I'm able to transform my old iPIX (yes, I have taken some mouthwash) cube strips to cubes, and then rotated and renumbered the cubes whe...

Problem with postioning of pano file
I found the WinRar program to open the zipped file, and I can see and open the .swfs there, but I can't open the .fla - Flash gives me "unknown file format" even though it seems to be a .fla.
Is there something special about the container.fla?
Brian
