Re: text windows in pano and search engines
Thanks for the links. I learned some new things, like "innerHTML". It sounds like the text in js "may" be indexed, or not... I am now using Google's webtools to figure out what is going on. After I made the index.html (with title and meta description tags) a fullscreen (browser-f...

text windows in pano and search engines
Do search engines have access to the text that appears in a popup window (for instance click on an info button and a text window pops up)? I am making a web-page as cylindrical panorama for a friend and he would like the "info" and "about" text in a popup window, but it needs to ...

Re: reworked website with pano as index page
You could have the panos in an iframe on a general index page. Yes, that is how I used to have it in the past and is also the only method I managed to implement due to my coding illiteracy. This time I did not want to use an iframe because iOS still cannot escape from an iframe to "true" ...

Re: reworked website with pano as index page
It would be even better if I could hide the last part of the url, so that if people copy and paste the url, it will only copy sphericalpanoramas.com and not what comes after it.I like the way they change with each visit.

reworked website with pano as index page
I redid http://sphericalpanoramas.com to make it more html5 accessible. I more or less ignored anything smaller than a tablet as far as the skin is concerned. At first I wanted to do the whole website with only Pano2VR, but creating the various galleries and future gallery updates would have become ...

Re: unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Back from Seattle and checked the html5 version on Firefox. It is fine there. So it was a PC - Safari problem.

Re: unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Hi Thomas,
I was using Safari on the PC for html5. When I view the pano in flash on Safari it looks ok. I also was seeing a difference on my old MBP, but the quality difference was less pronounced. I am in Seattle for the weekend, but can do some more experimenting when back on Monday.

Re: unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Yes, your files look about the same. So can you see anything wrong in my html5 settings..? I do not have these problems when starting out with an equirect tif.
On my MBP with 1440x900 screen I still see some difference between the flash and html5 panos, but not as pronounced as on the PC.

Re: unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Viewing the html5 in mobile settings would explain it, but my screen is 1920x1200 and according to the screenshot of the mobile tab that I included in the previous post that should serve up the 1800 cubes..?
For completeness I am including the p2vr file this time

Re: unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Hopki, I have done something similar right now and taken some screengrabs. The first image is flash, the second html5 I see a clear difference in sharpness. I am including images of the settings in flash and html5. As mentioned before: the input images are 1800px cubes. Flash: http://www.sphericalpa...

unsharp html5 panos with cubes as input
Due to a HD failure, I have a number of panos only in flash version. I extracted the cubes from these and used that as input for building an html5 version. The cubes extracted from the swf file are 1800x1800px and my largest size for html5 is also 1800px. The re-rendered flash version is just as sha...

Re: Question about html in user data description
Everything brand new here. Also - when I use the color attributes somewhere else, in a test html 4.01 page, they work as expected. I am wondering if the fact that both <u> and <font> have been deprecated in html5 has something to do with this.

Re: Question about html in user data description
Martin, I always use a plain text editor (notepad++) for html and javascript. I re-typed everything and still get the same result: When I include the color attribute in the user data>description, the text (and link) completely disappear in the flash version and in the html5 version it is visible but...

Question about html in user data description
I have a link in the User Data description text. In the flash version it works as I want, but in the html5 version the link text is dark blue. I have tried to include a color attribute, but then the link text disappears completely in the flash version. Here is the description text with link: This wa...

Re: Quicktime from cubes?
Never mind - It was some weird (usually rock steady) DevalVR player fail. After rebooting W7, DevalVR worked properly again.
I use DevalPlayer to play quicktime panos. It is still the smoothest player. I use it for large screen projected viewings in museums and such.
