Re: Setting hotspot depth in stereo pano

Thanks, Thomas The need to 'bake in' the convergence distance is the root of the problem. If the panos were converged at infinity, as you assume, then the present way of setting distances of 3D elements works; but it breaks if I set a different convergence distance -- as I must do to get an image th...

Re: Setting hotspot depth in stereo pano

I get the impression that P2VR assumes that stereo pairs are aligned at infinity, so that infinite distance means the hotspot is at the same position in both images, while for all smaller distances the 'right' one is left of the 'left' one. Unfortunately this is not the case in VR. Oculus best pract...

Setting hotspot depth in stereo pano

In stereoscopic 3D tours (made with feather-orb.ggsk and feather-vr.ggsk) hotspots appear too close to the viewer, and this is quite distracting.
Setting hotspot depth property does not seem to change anything. Can this be made to work?

How to select the external patch editor?

Pano2VR automatically opens patches in Photoshop, but here does not seem to be a setting for selecting an external photo editor. So I guess maybe it is relying on a file association to the .psd format? I would like it to use the new PS beta instead, but want to keep the file associations for the sta...

Scrolling thumbnails in VR

Built a 12 node VR tour with version 7 using feather_orb.ggsk + feather_vr.ggsk, "Floating skin menu button" enabled.
It does show floating thumbnails, but only the first 4, and there does not seem to be any way to scroll them.
Can this be fixed?

Default views via hotspots

In a tour made with version 7, I notice that selecting nodes via the thumbnail index displays the default views, as expected, but selecting via hotspot displays the file view. I used the automatic linking tool to connect 'closest nodes' positioned on a map. How can I make the hotspots agree with the...

Re: VR skin -- no buttons visible

OK it is coming back -- have to select a non-VR skin too.
Which also make the default views take effect -- I was going to complain about that next.

VR skin -- no buttons visible

This is infuriating. Trying again to make a VR tour, can't make one that will go into VR. Did it once but can't remember how. What I have just done is: Choose Web output; set VR 'enabled'; choose skin "feather_vr.ggsk"; generate output => lovely tour without any onscreen controls apart fro...

A very satisfactory VR tour

At last, it is possible to make a virtual tour that is a pleasure to visit in VR. After some false starts, I made this one from 4 recent stereo panoramas, using P2VR Pro 7. https://tks-vr-tours.com/LibertyParkVR/index.html In VR on a Quest 2, it has all the navigation tools needed for an enjoyable e...

Re: Can't make VR tour

OK, getting better.
I added a regular skin and now there are buttons in the tour.
And it does play on the LAN using the https mode of the integrated server.
But the data transfer rate is incredibly slow -- is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Re: Can't make VR tour

Thanks, Karyn (and Merry Christmas!)
So why is there a special VR output panel with special VR skins? Are they meant to be applied in addition to a skin selected on the right?
I do dig the spherical thumbnail hotspots & am looking forward to making true VR tours with P2VR 7,

Re: Can't make VR tour

UPDATE I have now put the tour on an ssl-enabled website (url: https://tks-vr-tours.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/LibertyParkVR/index.html) As on my LAN, it shows no buttons, only the hotspots -- which however now appear in the VR hmd as rotating spheres. Some progress. Messing with the VR controllers ...

Can't make VR tour

Trying to make a VR tour with V7. The 4 nodes are stereo over/under panos. Under Web Output Properties, selected and enabled venis_vr.ggsk or feather_vr.ggsk; Control tab shows Add Fullscreen and Add VR enabled. Viewing the output via the 'ssl' mode of integrated web server, with a Quest 2 on LAN, s...

A real bug in V7

Version 7 on Windows 10 version 22H2 build 19045.2251. Web output. Trying to load a skin via the file browser before the web output; deleting them -- browser window pops up then P2VR becomes unresponsive and must be killed. This happened after 2 unused outputs had been added before the web output; d...

Thanks, Martin
I guess I was confused by the new layout, found what I need now.
