Big Virtual Field Guide close to completion

Hi,
Soon finished with a virtual field guide whose purpose is to be used by biology students who will be studying Arctic biology in Svalbard.

Can be viewed here:
https://learningarcticbiology.info/360/vfg/map/

Looking to see if there is any feedback / last minute improvement I can make.

Thanks,
S

[SOLVED] Is it possible to toggle visibility of map markers? (Map element skin editor, Leaflet API)

Hi, Is there a way to further customize the map element you get in the skin editor? My example is that I have a location with panoramas from different months, user can select between the different months to view that spot during that time. However, I would love to have the leaflet API map running, b...

Bug? pano.openNext() tilt does not work

I've been trying to use this to navigate to a pano with specific pan, tilt and FoV:

Code: Select all

javascript:pano.openNext('{MD2}',133,-57,63);
It goes to the right pano, with the right pan, but the tilt is always 0.
Any ideas?

Re: Html format in point hotspot description

If you put your html code in the text/markdown box, then save skin and generate output it will appear with color in your guide.

Re: Creating time series - not sure how to do this

Hi Hopkin, My problem is that when I do, pano.openNext('{node1}',"$(ap)","$(at)","$(af)"); is that the current pan ($(ap)), does not translate to looking the same direction in the next node. This issue is solved when using the hotspot element in skin editor, and setting...

Re: How to make active node marker stay ontop?

Yeah, I use the "Node maker" from the skin editor and I add my active and normal icons into the "Clone as normal" and "Clone as active" selection windows.

Based on this tutorial:

How to make active node marker stay ontop?

Hi, I'd like to have the active node marker stay on top of the inactive markers. Right now I've tried: Changing the Z index of the node markers (the skin elements) Putting the active marker skin element over the inactive marker skin element in the arrangement tab https://i.imgur.com/setYnOb.png

Re: Creating time series - not sure how to do this

Hi Tony and Hopki. I think you got a bit unlucky Tony and clicked the link during a time I was updating the files. And Hopki I tried the solution cycling with the same tag, this seems to do the trick. I'll play a bit more with it. Thanks a lot! Do you know if there is a way to preserve current view ...

Creating time series - not sure how to do this

Hi, I'm trying to do something a bit tricky I think. I have 360 images from the same spots at different point in time. And I have made a simple menu that switches between the months. Might be easier to see from an early build: https://learningarcticbiology.info/360/seasonalguide/index.html Right now...

What decides which skin elements appear on top vs under

Hi,
Right now I have ht_node skin element at the bottom, and ht_info over it again. Yet, popup text boxes appear in-between the nodes. I'm confused now on how the layering here works.

Re: San Gorgonio Wilderness Panoramas

Really really really good work. I have questions!

What equipment do you use to take the pictures?
How did you create the interactive map you get to by clicking "Back to gallery"? Is it just an image uploaded as a pano?

Creating seasonal tour. Can I hide map pins?

Hi, I'm taking 360-photos from the same spots through the year. Wonder what's the best approached here is when I want to put it together? I want to (example) switch between a summer, winter, spring and autumn tour. A problem I face is with the map element. If I have every season in one guide, that w...
