Re: GoodReader (one word, it says)

Did you solve the problem in your post?

Could you share with me the recipe for using Object2vr for iPad local use (no wifi)? I tried opening a Safari web archive file in Goodreader and it fails with an xml error. What are the details for the file you are copying to Goodreader?

Thanks.

Re: BINGO! (Fullscreen problem with HTML5 figured out)

Thank you for the reply, 360Texas. The list to which you refer merely confirms that v4 BETA can create an HTML5 output with a functioning true fullscreen option. My concern is that fullscreen doesn't work in the same customary manner when outputting an HTML5 pano from the current stable v3.x Pano2VR...

BINGO! (Fullscreen problem with HTML5 figured out)

I collaborated today with 360Texas (a marvelous asset to GardenGnome) because the Fullscreen control button on an HTML5 spherical pano of his works, while the same button using the same skin using the same project file he had used (so every setting is identical) does not work in an HTML5 spherical p...

Re: 2 questions about HTML5 output

Thank you for replying, Hopki. By "pain" I was referring to your statement: "Where this goes wrong is when you start looking at mobile devices such as Android, which at the moment is a mess IMO and the constantly changing IOS." While you may have success getting HTML5 output to w...

Re: 2 questions about HTML5 output

I feel your pain, Hopki. So what is the benefit of outputting HTML5 spherical panos for desktops when Flash already works wonderfully there? It sounds like if we put HTML5 versions of our work out there, while they may work fine on desktops, the results will vary on mobile devices -- sometimes to th...

Re: 2 questions about HTML5 output

THANK YOU! Very informative, and you provide hope for the future! When a user is just getting started with Pano2VR's HTML5 feature it would be a real time-saver to know which features don't work on the various major platforms. When a feature doesn't work the new user is inclined to assume it's his o...

Re: 2 questions about HTML5 output

It's encouraging to hear that fullscreen works in those browsers with your new product beta. Is this on a PC or Mac, or does your testing include an iPad? Any chance we could modify the XML or HTML in our current Pano2VR HTML5 output projects to accomplish the same trick with fullscreen? Hi Timmy, T...

Re: Skin Editor with HTML5

Thank you for replying, Hopki. I'm not looking to pin fault on any aspect of this; I just don't want to waste time crawling around in the dark trying to figure out why an HTML5 output doesn't behave exactly as it did in Flash. I realize there's the additional variable of whether I'm using Safari wit...

Skin Editor with HTML5

Does the Skin Editor create skins that are fully compatible in both Flash and HTML5?

Do all actions and effects that work in Flash also work in an HTML5/CSS3 capable browser, like Safari?

If there are any exceptions are they documented?

2 questions about HTML5 output

For my first attempt at creating a tablet-compatible HTML5 spherical pano I used Hopki's formula (quote block below). The results look fine (without zooming in) on an iPad 2g and 3g, an iPhone 4s and an iPod 3 (I tried it on as many IOS devices as I could find). On a Google Nexus 7 it's a bust. The ...

Can HTML5 match Flash output? Will it ever?

I've recently discovered how much fun it is to use Pano2VR's more advanced features, especially multiresolution and the skin editor. Pano2VR is a wonderful creative tool! Yesterday I was feeling a slight sense of accomplishment after viewing my semifinal Flash project online using a PC. I then tried...

Re: Seeking definition of Decode at Startup

THANK YOU, HOPKI! What was missing from the video is a definition of "decoding". I didn't realize that the jpgs are decoded. ("Decoding" must've been defined elsewhere.) The reason you cite for using Decode at Startup is to ensure a speedy load time for the swf, but since the pla...

Seeking definition of Decode at Startup

I've searched the forums for a definition of the Multirez option "Decode at Startup" but found only references to it (usually expressions of confusion). Somewhere in the docs I read: "NOTE: In general, it's enough to keep either the decode at startup or embed selected for the lowest r...

Re: Understanding Multiresolution

In this thread and others I've seen reference to accounting for the 1 pixel overlap but I cannot see where it's factored into anyone's settings. Here Smooth uses levels evenly divisible by 512. Where in this example is the one overlap pixel accounted for? (assuming that it's added or otherwise has s...

Re: Multiresolution settings questions

Thank you for the explanation, Hopki! Given that my original equi. image is 20K px wide and the resulting multiresolution levels are 5000, 2500, and 1250, what Level Tile Size would you recommend and what criteria do you use to select it (other than that every level should be evenly divisible by it...
