Re: Triggering loader for each 360° video scene

Thanks Hopki, appreciate the reply. When I thought this through I reaslised without hinting or other information in the videos this isn't really possible… the best P2VR could do is to display tangible info (eg number of bytes loaded, or percentage loaded) and then play at a 'safe' stage, assuming th...

Re: Triggering loader for each 360° video scene

Perhaps I was overthinking this. For now I've implemented a simple customised loader element - referenced from the components library – which does most of what I want. It'd still be good if there was a way to initiate playback once the video has loaded enough to be able to play, rather than fully lo...

Triggering loader for each 360° video scene

Hey. Diving back into P2VR and my knowledge is feeling a bit rusty :P so asking for some sagely advice please. Been authoring a multi-scene tour comprising a mix of 360° video and photos, with the emphasis being on 90-120sec 360° video content as the lead. Having played around with various encoding ...

Re: Best settings for Gear VR

And as a comparison, here's the left-hand panorama (so this is a 'mono' view) saved as an equirectangular. Exactly the same size etc. as the stereo one. Load them both onto your Gear VR and compare them: look especially at the zenith and nadir on the equirect version… it looks like a crappy Google S...

Re: Best settings for Gear VR

@360Texas You'll see a difference when you look at the nadir and zenith, comparing an equirect to an Oculus-format cube strip… the poles exhibit the same 'pinching Here is an early stereo 3D pano which I shot as a test earlier this year. I've shared it already with friends so I'm happy for you to ch...

Re: Best settings for Gear VR

Yes, Oculus Rift & Gear VR require a different strip output to the ones we're used to with P2VR, as 3DV highlights. Displaying equirectangulars adds pinching to the zenith and nadir of your panorama, so the Oculus cube strip is definitely the optimum for good viewing. At first I used a long and ...

Brilliant, thanks very much. I've been waiting for this for a while. Can't wait to set aside some time for experimenting!

Re: How can I supercharge & automate complex hotspots?

This method (using the generated images) only applies to area hotspots… which I found out a few months ago are deprecated. The developers are encouraging us to use either point or area hotspots instead. Neither of those generate files to change or define as alpha masks or lend themselves easily to a...

Re: Questions about polygon hotspots in O2VR

Ok, I can confirm manually code wrangling does work, exactly as hoped/planned! Basically I have 8 point hotspots aligned, pixel-perfect, to an object. The object has 144 images per viewstate (4 rows, 36 columns). I needed them to be exactly aligned for 4 different view states. Having manually placed...

Re: Questions about polygon hotspots in O2VR

Ta, that fits with what I have been experimenting with this morning too. I reckon a bit of GREP will beat hours of repositioning, once I can sort out the exact details :)

Re: Questions about polygon hotspots in O2VR

Cheers Hopki, I'm glad I wasn't missing anything obvious, and that those comments are being addressed. Looks like I'll have to hang tight and do some manual point positioning… Do you think there is a way of hacking the .o2vr file in a text editor to apply point hotspots for different states? I recko...

Re: Questions about polygon hotspots in O2VR

Conversely, is there an easy or elegant way to copy the positions of point hotspots from one state to another? There's no checkbox to facilitate this, unlike with polygon hotspots, and it would be very useful. Thanks in advance

Questions about polygon hotspots in O2VR

I've previously used point or area hotspots for projects. However I am trying to make my work more future-proof and follow best practice by using poly hotspots instead. However I have run into a few differences in the way I can use them, and can't find answers to this in the documentation. First que...
